Job Interview in Copperas Cove

This weekend Rene had an interview at First Assembly of God in Copperas Cove, Texas for a Youth Pastor position. We had a very good trip down there. We made very good time and didn't get lost. Joseph slept the whole way. He was such a good boy. We had dinner Saturday night with Pastor Kelsay, his wife and some of the Staff and/or board members. I was nervous before we got there but once we got there my fears melted away. They were so funny and nice. We clicked immediately. We got to tour the church and the school that night and it was pretty awesome. I felt very at home there. We drove around a little bit and looked at the city. It's really pretty there. It's very hilly there. Above is a pic of some hills there. We attended Sunday morning Services the next morning and once again I got just a teensie bit nervous, but once again my fears were all relieved once we got inside. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly to us so we felt right at home. Rene met some kindred spirits as many of their congregation are from Panama. Everyone there fell in love with Joseph (towards the end of dinner Sat night I caught Joseph putting his broccoli on the pastor's wife's plate..... turns out he'd been doing it the whole meal. I was mortified. lol).
What's not to love, though. Right? He's adorable. So we got to meet most of the teens in their youth group. All of them were sooo sweet. There wasn't ANYONE at all that was rude or snobby the whole time we were there. You could just feel the love of God. They were all pitching in with Joseph and playing with him and we just felt like we belonged there.
We go back on the 7th and 8th for the second part of the interview where we get to visit the school during a school day and Rene will lead youth group that night. Ultimately we want God's will in this situation. This is a really good opportunity for both of us and we just want to fulfill the calling God has put on our lives. Please pray for our family and that we will be able to buy a new car soon and also just that we will have God's traveling mercies. All of you prayers are so appreciated.
So now that I've told y'all the happy cheerful part let me tell you the not so wonderful part of the weekend. On our way back home we randomly stopped at a McDonalds. I thought it would be good for Joseph to get out and play on the playground for a while since he'd been sitting in the carseat all day. Well Rene and Joseph were outside on the playground while I was waiting on our order when this guy runs in and tells the security guard on duty that somebody had just stole his car AT GUNPOINT! While MY BABY (babies) were on the playground outside!!!!! God had his hand on us for sure. I thank God for protecting our family.
It didn't really get any better. We got lost coming back in though Dallas! When I say totally lost I mean TOTALLY lost. For anyone that didn't already know this let me give some helpful advice. Don't try to follow mapquest directions backwards. Just go print new ones telling you the way home. LOL I got so confused and Rene was supposed to be helping me with the directions but bless his heart he was just as confused as I was..... Anyways we ended up staying at the Ramada for the night and using the computer to mapquest it, and then making the trip back to Paris this morning. We didnt' really have a good night sleep, and after getting up so early I am completely exhausted. I started to call in today to sleep but I decided to tuff it out. I'm a Soldier...lol. Anyways I better get to work now!
